After traveling to Mexico and learning about its culture and gastronomy, we decided to open our first restaurant in Madrid.

To do so, we had to bring from the Aztec country all the necessary equipment such as tortilla pans or comales, because in Spain this material did not exist and was practically unknown.

And that is how in 1989 we began our journey with the first taqueria in Madrid in the Plaza de las Comendadoras, in front of the old convent that gives its name to this traditional square.

In 1989, we opened the first Taqueria in Madrid in the Plaza de las Comendadoras, opposite the old convent that gives its name to this traditional square.

Years later, in 1993 we opened the second taquería in the city, La Taquería de Birra Don Pedro, in the heart of the neighborhood of La Latina, a sequel to the first Taquería opened in the capital of Spain in the Plaza de las Comendadoras.

Each bite is an explosion of flavor, with freshly made tortillas and generous fillings that include options such as carnitas, al pastor and birria, prepared with fresh and authentic ingredients. The birria, in particular, is a must; Its deep flavor and juicy texture will leave you wanting more. It's definitely my favorite 😋
