A journey to Mexico that changed the way Madrid eats tacos
After travelling to Mexico and discovering its culture and cuisine, we decided to open our first restaurant in Madrid.
At the time, we had to bring tortilla presses, comales, metates, molcajetes and much of the equipment we needed directly from Mexico, because they were practically impossible to find in Spain.
That is how our journey began in 1989 in Plaza de las Comendadoras, opposite the old convent that gives its name to this traditional corner of Madrid.
In 1993, our second taquería opened, La Taquería de Birra Don Pedro , continuing a story rooted in Mexican cuisine and the lively spirit of its atmosphere.
