After traveling to Mexico and discovering its rich culture and gastronomy, we decided to open our first restaurant in Madrid.
To make this possible, we brought all the necessary equipment from Mexico (such as tortilla pans and comales) because at that time, these essential tools for authentic Mexican cuisine were practically unknown in Spain.
Thus, in 1989, we began our journey with the first taquería in Madrid, located in the Plaza de las Comendadoras, in front of the historic convent that gives its name to this traditional square.

History
In 1989, we opened the first taquería in Madrid at the Plaza de las Comendadoras, opposite the historic convent that gives its name to this traditional square.
The idea was born after a trip to Mexico, where we brought back all the essential tools —including molcajetes, comales, metates, and tortilleras— for making authentic tacos, as these items were virtually nonexistent in Spain at the time.
Years later, in 1993, we opened our second taquería in the city: La Taquería de Birra Don Pedro, located in the heart of the La Latina neighborhood. This establishment continues the legacy of our first Mexican restaurant in Plaza de las Comendadoras.
Countless objects and artifacts from popular Mexican culture traveled from the Aztec country to Madrid, creating a space of authenticity dedicated to Mexican cuisine and the lively atmosphere that makes our Mexican restaurant in central Madrid a truly unique experience.

The tacos are, without a doubt, the star of the place. Each bite is an explosion of flavor, with freshly made tortillas and generous fillings that include options such as carnitas, al pastor and birria, prepared with fresh and authentic ingredients.
